Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies Clean-up and Learning Activity
The Jerusalem Green Fund enjoyed its first official clean-up activity with none other than the students of Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Talpiot, Jerusalem. They began with a learning activity led by student Erin Wallach (Lehrer) geared toward what the Torah texts have to say about being green-conscious. Then the students along with teacher Meesh Hammer-Kossoy and JGF Board Member Richard Corman took responsibility for their neighborhood and did their own volunteer clean-up activity. "This was completely out of my comfort zone, but I dove right in. Frankly, I am thankful for the experience to give back to my community. One garbage piece at a time,” said Wallach. It gives new meaning to JGF's mantra "Love Our City", and we look forward to working more with Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in hopes to make Jerusalem a cleaner and greener city.
