Urban Nature Maps

Jerusalem is the first city to conduct an urban nature survey.

The survey was completed in 2010 and mapped 151 nature sites.

These sites were mapped as a basis for an outline plan for urban nature in Jerusalem which defines guidelines for the planning and management of urban nature sites. But the program does not protect the sites from destruction and construction. Since the survey was carried out, many sites have been partially or completely destroyed, and many others are threatened.

See in the maps below the threats of development, and also the sites that residents take responsibility for and develop and maintain.

By clicking on the links you can read in detail about each site, and get contact information to join the activities of residents around them.
